Core 13.0-U4 not installed?

I have Core 13.0-U1 installed on a SuperMicro X8ST3-F and 2x 500Gb mechanical drives (ada0 and ada1) for boot.
I chose to go for fresh installation. The wizard shows me the installation is about U4. The process completes with no issues, I'm only asked for the root password. Once the installation is over and I reboot I still get the previous settings for the network and the version is U1.
What the heck?
I ran the shell from the installer USB and wiped the first 1024 Mb of ada0 and ada1 (dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/ada[0,1] bsize=1048576 count=1000) and still after installing again I get the version U1.

What's wrong with my installing process?

Nope, but even on the physical console (with display and keyboard), after the installation, I get a shell and do cat /etc/version and I get U1.
[EDIT]
I cleared the cache and still I get U1. Previous settings mean network cards settings, hostname, etc etc

Are you sure you're installing U4 over U1, and not onto a different disk, that's in a different location in the boot order?

Yes, I have only 2 mechanical drives with 500Gb capacity (ada0 and ada1), the others are all 2TB or 4TB. Hence I cannot choose by mistake other drives than the ones where I previously installed U1

Out of interest, have you looked in System>Boot to see if U4 is actually installed, and possibly selectable for activation?
