any ways to copy sync the content of an imported ntfs volume to my newly created UFS volume?

im looking for a way to sync the contents of the NTFS disk to my UFS diks and displays time remaining, time elapse, transfer speed, current file in que, when transfering the files.

plus, any tips on how to manually mount external usb drives.

Apologies for answering a question with a question......

Is the hard drive where the NTFS volume sits physically connected to the FreeNAS system ?

You got a couple of questions there.....
1, Not sure which version of FreeNAS your running but it appears there may be a bug in certain versions of FreeNAS whereby certain items were not being loaded by the boot process and others were. Take a look here for more detail "https://support.freenas.org/ticket/759". It may be worth making sure your on the latest and greatest version of FreeNAS and if that does not work try the steps mentioned at the very end of support ticket 759.

2, Is the sync a one off or something you plan to do regularly ? I have not played around much with running programs/scripts directly on the FreeNAS box but something like "rsync" may be an option

Some interesting reading here as well in regards to volumes supported by FreeNAS
