I have set-up freenas server for specifically media sharing.
For some reason the files getting copied to again and again to different folders.
My configuration set-up is

1. Mother board - GIGABYTE GA-H61M-S1 LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX with 4 SATA ports
2. Intel Celeron G540 Sandy Bridge 2.5GHz LGA 1155 65
3. 8 GB non-ECC RAM
4. 1TB X 4 Western Digital Hard Drives = Raid Z1 = gave final 2.6 TB availability.

I have total 1.5 GB data on the this freenas server.

I want to complete wipe data and set up a new freenas server.

I want to know if I can copy files onto the external Hard drive connecting thru the USB port on the Freenas Motherboard.

Please help me out !

It will proably be easier in the long run to backup it up through a client machine on the network. Plug the USB drive in your "normal" PC and copy away.
