Constant Errors from LSI HBA. IOC Fault.

I've just noticed these issues starting on my Truenas server. Im running Core 12.0 U8 on an HP Z840 with the built-in LSI HBA that I've flash to IT mode with the latest fw and bios. The drives connected to the HBA are two WD Red 6TB drives. They are the SMR drives unfortunately. My pool status shows as healthy and no smart errors on the drives.

I've been doing research and have found others with this issue on 12.0 U1 IIRC. There was a tuneable that seemed to correct the issue but Im not sure if that will help in my case.

Is my HBA dying or is this just an issue with freebsd?

That's typical of some SMR drives. I don't know that there's a tuneable to fix crappy SMR drives.

So a little update.

I ended up moving these drives from the built-in hba to the sata controller on the mobo and haven't had the error come back. I eventually plan on buying 4 new drives (either 10tb SAS drives or 12tb sata) and will see if the error returns when I use the hba again with CMR drives.
