Hey

I am hoping to set up a server using FreeNAS sometime in the near future, and I was wondering, would connecting via an ethernet cable from the server to a BT Home Hub still work like any other router? If you havent already guessed, Im a noob when it comes to servers, and all that. I would apreciate any feedback you can give me!

I know this question sounds silly, but its better to be safe than sorry, after all I dont want to go and buy a bloody computer, buy and install 4 2TB harddrives to find out in the end that it wont work...

Hi Aid405,

I would imagine that it should work just fine. If the BT device has 100meg ports you could always go pick up a cheap 5 or 8 port gig-e switch, put it if front of the home hub and plug your clients into that.
