Hello,
I am using FreeNAS in a small business environment. We have one share that should only be readable by a certain group of people. We are using Active Directory with FreeNAS, I have the group setup and enabled, but there doesn't seem to be a way to disable read access for "other" in FreeNAS.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? How did you fix it? To clarify, I want the Group owner to have read/write, and everyone else to have no access to the share.

Thanks,
Jordan

  • In explorer, navigate to \\<server>
  • right-click on share
  • click properties
  • click 'security' tab
  • remove "everyone"
