Dear all,
I'm new to Freenas and trying to plan the best approach to backup around 70GB on photos. Typically we have windows machines at home. Should I
A) go with nextcloud, have a local copy on the machine (ntfs) of the files and sync to nextcloud (zfs)
B) save directly to Freenas / CIFS share (zfs)
In both cases, an on and off site backup will take place.
With option A I get an additional local copy of the files on the machine, but should I be worried about bit rot on a single ssd for the machine? As NextCloud will be on zfs, zfs could self heal in such a situation.
Under A there is a chance that a bit rot could be replicated on to the zfs NextCloud?
And advice welcome
