I have 2 CIFS shares set up, both set up with owner as nobody. Running 9.3. About once a month, one of the shares will prompt for network credentials. No credentials entered will work. This is after they have been performing without issue.
The issue is resolved by turning of the CIFS service from the GUI., then turning it back on. It only seems to happen with one of the Shares, which is a different pool.
The issue persists across every host PC on the network, until the service is restarted.
