Dear All,
I will soon have a microserver running Truenas CORE and would like to make sure to perform all the preparative actions before starting using the NAS. The pool I would like to create is 4x4 TB WD Red Plus configured in RAIDz2 with LZ4 compression. I would like to properly very the following:

I will soon have a microserver running Truenas CORE and would like to make sure to perform all the preparative actions before starting using the NAS. The pool I would like to create is 4x4 TB WD Red Plus configured in RAIDz2 with LZ4 compression. I would like to properly very the following:
- make a snapshot of the write/read performance of the new pool
- meant to identify possible issue due to a bad configuration or whatever
- this test should be local only (on the machine itself) in order to check the hardware and not the network connection
- I would like to store this as future reference
- verify the network speed
- repeat benchmark write/read but this time to check the network speed
- again keep this as future reference
- avoid infant mortality
Thanks in advance,
Vortigern
