Dear all,

I would like to change the case of my TrueNAS build (MB, RAM, HDD stay the same).
I searched the forum and saw this discussion, where it was recommended to check that gptid is used for naming instead of da0/ada0/

The GUI suggest that in my case it is the latter:

Could someone please confirm that this is indeed needed as I will likely not plug in drives in the same order in the new case.
If so, how do I change this in my pool?

p.s. I am running TrueNAS-13.0-U6.1

Thank you for the help,
Denis.

The GUI won't show you the gpitds; it translates them to the more-standard device names. To determine this, you'd need to go to the shell and run zpool status. But unless you've been messing around with your pool at the command like, it's nearly certain that it's using gptids.

Thank you @danb35, indeed by checking the output of zpool status I see it uses gptid's.
So I guess I can simply power down the NAS, move the hardware to the new case and power it up.
