i have a truenas server with 14 drives, 7 each in 2 vdevs. i was originally going to use it for all storage, but ended up backing up the one vdev to the other.
because of the original intent, i set each vdev up as a raidz3. i now want more space on the backup vdev, so want to downgrade it from raidz3 to raidz2
i assume i have to blow the partition away and recreate it, and thats ok since its just backups anyway.
but questions:
is there an easier way?
if i do that, will all the tasks (rsync, sapshots, etc) still work on the new partition? i assume not, but....
anything else i should know before i do this?
thanks for any guidance.
