I have a Supermicro A1SRi-2758F motherboard. I saw there was a newer IPMI firmware for it. In hopes it would fix KVM problems (doesn't work at all through the IPMI web interface, have to use IPMIview which sometimes works if I have the right obsolete version of Java), I downloaded it. The instructions for upgrading through the IPMI interface are simple.

After I browse to the .bin file and hit upload, I get the window below, which seems promising. But about 20 seconds later, the window goes blank except for the header. And stays that way. Eventually the session times out and I log back in, and it's like nothing happened.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried diferent browsers ?
You are a genius. I would have never thought of that. Firefox didn't work, but Safari did. It is upgrading now. Thank you.

It completed successfully. The server didn't reboot as they said it would, I guess IPMI only reboots. It's showing the new firmware version. And console redirection/KVM now works!
