I just installed TrueNAS CORE and network configuration was a bit tricky. Btw, I was able to get an IP address via DHCP and I logged in via web console from another computer.
I see that gateway and dns server are set. DNS server is 8.8.8.8. However, if I try to either update the system or make a nslookup www.google.it it does not work.
I can successfully make a ping 8.8.8.8 so the connection and gw are UP . A ping www.yahoo.it command, does not work .. the shell via web console remains blank without errors too.
What is wrong ?

OK, so from that I can confirm you're looking in the right place, but I would question what's there...

A default gateway of 10.4.0.4 looks suspicious to me (likely to be incorrect).

Routers are not typically somewhere in the middle of the range and are usually found at .1 or .254, so if your NAS IP is 10.4.0.x, I would expect to see a gateway of 10.4.0.1.

(I suspect you've entered your NAS IP address in the gateway setting)

I know this sounds ridiculous but change your NTP servers to 0.us.pool.ntp.org (1.us.pool.ntp.org;2 etc). This fixed the problem for me. Good luck

Indeed timesync can cause issues with certificate verification, so could be related if not working.
