hey @HoneyBadger Winnie and I took a look via zoom on the system I think we both come to the conclusion that there may be a low-level ZFS problem with not being able to mount (or remove folders for that matter) from the Backup pool. Any other ZFS specific things we could look into ?

Winnie put a summary at #73. I think the prestige to understand this is getting almost bigger than getting access to the data itself

I tend to do my encryption with SED's rather than in-pool, so I'm a bit lost here at first glance.

Can we try to reproduce the errors (except for the ones that cause a hang/reboot) and then collect a debug and file a JIRA ticket?

Hey HoneyBadger, sure thing. I will do this tomorrow morning EU time as I am currently in training US time.

I also seem to be having this issue, or a similarly related one. https://www.truenas.com/community/t...ting-correctly-and-214-scrub-progress.114847/. I'll let you know if I discover anything that might help
So, I got my system working again or at least until I can make a backup). I was running into very similar issues that you saw with datasets not mounting/ no permissions to move folders. My pool was even created with truenas core and upgraded later to truenas scale later. (during that transition it made me change the encryption keys for some reason). Pretty much my fix was using a different os than truenas and waiting a day after attempting to mount the zfs pool after the system hung. When tried on truenas itself the whole system would freeze to the point I had to restart the computer to see any change.
