I have a Dell Precision T1650 with 8gb ram, 40 gb SSD and 1.5TB HD with seabios (legacy bios only). I have tried to install TrueNas to the SSD several times without success because TrueNas keeps changing the drive to EFI which is not recognized. I finally installed it to the 1.5TB Hard drive and changed the SSD to MBR using gpart. How can I move the installation to the SSD. Also USB thumbdrives aren't recognized either.

What's going on there? Those systems are supposed to have UEFI firmware (and they're definitely new enough to be UEFI).

I take it you mean GPT, which is not a UEFI thing. And that's expected, TrueNAS installs to a GPT-formatted device with a protective MBR. Even older systems have no trouble booting from such a configuration.
