Hi,
After a long while wrestling with my computer (I'm not a whiz), I finally got FreeNAS 9.1.1 running on my old PC thats been gathering dust, 2.5 gb ram, AMD Athlon 64 3200. All I want it to do is stream DLNA, but everytime I try to install the plug-in it crashes and says an error has occured. It then takes a few minutes to be able to access the PC again. What am I doing wrong?

Tell us more about the hardware.

ZFS? UFS? Size of storage pool? etc.

Hmm. one drive only, and an external USB drive?

I'm surprised it's working at all.

FreeNAS doesn't work (well) with USB drives. Maybe someone can have some ideas for you.

Since you don't have the minimum of 8GB of RAM for ZFS as called out in the manual, not surprisingly some things may not work right. Upgrade to 8GB of RAM for better reliability and performance.

As for USB, DrKK is right. It's not very smart to use USB drives with FreeNAS.
