have HP N54L running FreeNAS original USB died when we moved house. have created new USB drive and tried to import the volume DATA this fails saying cant mount . I have tried console export and imports. it also shows available space as 0

I am aware there is not much space available and have bought an extra 3TB disk to add. currently 2 x 3TB disks mirrored

I just want to get data copied onto another disk so I can start from scratch with 4 x 3TB disks.

can anyone help please

Did you get this working? "data" is one of those names that is known to create problems, and therefore shouldn't be used.

Simply go to the CLI and do

zpool import -f data tank (renames from data to tank).
zpool export tank

Reboot and then import your "tank" zpool from the WebGUI.

Hi Tried that and renamed to ARCHIVE. get the same error re mountpoints but when I run
[root@freenas ~]# zpool status -v I get the following.
pool: ARCHIVE
state: ONLINE
scan: scrub repaired 0 in 16h3m with 0 errors on Sun Feb 1 08:04:04 2015
config:

ARCHIVE ONLINE 0 0 0

cache
gptid/9f0353b7-e29f-11e2-a342-28924a3610c9 ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors

pool: freenas-boot
state: ONLINE
scan: none requested
config:

NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
freenas-boot ONLINE 0 0 0
da0p2 ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors
[root@freenas ~]#

Still doesnt show in GUI under volumes.

Any Ideas how to remove mountpoints and get showing in GUI?

cannot mount '/DATA/FREENAS/crashplan_1': failed to create mountpoint
cannot mount '/DATA/Media': failed to create mountpoint

obviously DATA doesnt exist anymore

I have a clean USB drive installed as boot disk.

Off the top of my head it looks like you've created some problems that are stuck in the config file. You might want to try a fresh install and reconfigure everything from scratch. :/

The FreeNAS documentation does specifically say not to use the name 'data'. ;)

Is your pool set as readonly=on?
