Hey,

I recently set up a FreeNas Server for my dad. Everything works great so far and I was just making the finishing touches, including setting up the UPS. So I dialed the settings in for the UPS, checked if it worked which it didn't cause I didn't know I had to enable the service separately. So I pressed that little button and my only return was the message that it couldn't enable the service. Checking the console it printed the following for me, but since I'm new the FreeNas I really don't know what to make with that and I could use some help on figuring this out.

If you need extra inforamtion let me know ;)

Thanks for reading and the help :)

What is the make and model of the UPS?

In the Services->UPS->settings screen, what settings have you selected? Can you take a screenshot?

make sure UPS service is off

power down the FreeNAS

unplug the UPS

Reboot the FreeNAS

Plug in the UPS, make sure that the devd pop-up in the console verifies that you are indeed on port ugen1.3

restart the UPS service

If you STILL get the error, then make sure you have selected the correct device driver. While I don't see this specific model listed on the compatibility list, I still think it ought to work with the usbhid device driver, more than likely, so make sure you are choosing a UPS model that lists "usbhid" as its driver.

Well, just switching to usbhid has worked this time around. I tried this driver in the beginning, but after playing around with different settings I just didn't thought of giving it another shot. Thanks for your help ! :)
