When I try to: Check for Updates Daily and Download if Available, this happens:
Unable to connect to url https://update-master.ixsystems.com/TrueNAS/trains.txt: Automatic update check failed. Please check system network settings.

but I can browse to https://update-master.ixsystems.com/TrueNAS/trains.txt - where do I check "system network settings"? The server is working fine on my LAN and I can browse to the GUI obviously.

Platform: Generic
Version: TrueNAS-12.0-U6.1
HostName: truenas.local

Thanks!

Can you resolve "update-master.ixsystems.com " on the truenas cli to an IP address ?

nslookup update-master.ixsystems.com

Look at Network->Network Summary. Typically this error means either the default gateway and/or the DNS servers are missing from the server config in Network->Global Configuration.

Thank you @Alecmascot ! Yes, I could, but @Samuel Tai below had the answer. I had the DNS Servers set, but not the Default Gateway.
