Can you image the installation? Is it necessary

Ok, so this is not a production system, just me and old PC that I repurposed, so this isn't a priority installation, just aggravated at this point. I put 3 identical drives in it but had really only planned on toying around with this, and then I found out exactly how much I really loved this thing and so I started filling it up.

The problem is that I never used an OS drive, I just installed it on one of the 3 storage drives. Is there a way to image this installation over to another smaller, USB hard drive and then reformat the 3rd storage drive to add to the storage pool? If not, I can always move everything back off the drive and then start over again, just seems like if I could image this I could save some time.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm on the latest version, TrueNAS-12.0-U6

You cannot a shrink a ZFS pool, so that's difficult. Easiest way:
  • save configuration from the UI
  • do a fresh install to a smaller drive
  • restore configuration
  • repurpose former boot drive

Ok, was wondering if there was a way to do a backup/restore of the config. Thanks for your help!
