Can you add a mirror to a pool of two striped volumes?

So I've created a 4TB zpool volume of two 2TB drives, striped together. I've also got a spare 4TB drive handy.

Is it possible to attach this to my zpool volume as a mirror? I'm aware that the GUI doesn't allow you to do this, but I was hoping that I could do this via the shell?

The eventual plan is to replace those two 2TB drives with another 4TB drive in the future, but I'd rather not spend days having to rsync everything across to a new volume.

For what i know, the answer is NO, it's not possible to mirror a zpool made of striped disks, but wait someone else answer to be more sure

No, what you're trying to do isn't possible. You could add the 4 TB disk as a separate pool, and use ZFS replication to copy your data to it. When you get the second 4 TB disk, you could mirror it to the first using the CLI.

The most you can do is mirror one of the 2TB drives with the 4TB drive (leaving you with 2TB available, until you replace the 2TB drive with a 4TB drive or larger).
