can search LDAP through terminal, users aren't importing and can't access CIFS shares

I setup an LDAP via OpenLDAP on a Zentyal box and I'm using FreeNAS to house my files. The connection to everything seems to be working fine, because if I do a:

ldapsearch -h 192.168.20.201 -xLLL -b "dc=superserver,dc=preble,dc=com" -s sub "objectclass=*"

It outputs the LDAP I can even see the FreeNAS in the Computers ou.

However, none of my users are a) importing into the FreeNAS GUI and/or b) getting access to CIFS shares.

I've tried rebuilding the LDAP/AD cache in Settings > Advanced and nothing happened. I've recycled the LDAP service multiple times and just can't get it to work.
