Can I Use IBM M1015 Card and Motherboard's SATA?

I need to start using an IBM M1015 card that I bought on Ebay quite soon in order to add more hard drives to my FreeNAS system. Can I continue to use the SATA connectors on my motherboard, so that I have a mix of SATA-connected hard drives and SAS-connected hard drives in the FreeNAS system?

So long as your motherboard works with that card (not all motherboards do), you should have no problems.

I run on-motherboard SATA drives and addin card (adaptec) SATA in the same ZFS pool without any issues.
