Can I update HBA firmware via FreeNAS?

I have an LSI 9211-8i running firmware 19 and I need to update it to the newest one. I have done the update before on another machine and it was easy, but I don't have physical access to this particular server. I know the sas2flash commands are built into FreeNAS and I was wondering if it's possible to update the firmware on a live box. I have an idea of what the answer is but I wanted to see if it's advisable or not.

I view it as a bit risky with a live pool. If you can quiesce the box, that's going to be a lot safer.

This particular box doesn't use UEFI, so the flash procedure will be very straightforward, I'll just have to make a road trip. Thanks guys.
