Building my first freenas - will the Lenovo Thinkserver TS430 work?

I have a few years old TS430 server I'm planning to use for Freenas. My first freenas build.
I'm a little worried about the RAID controller it has. As I understand RAID is not recommended.
Will I run into any problems? Anything I should be aware of?

Could you give some information about the used Controller? If it's the "Integrated ThinkServer RAID 100" it should be the Intel SATA controller underneath. Probably you can set it to AHCI and use it just fine.

Turned out it has 6 sata ports on the mainboards, no controller. I just installed freenas, it works great.
