Hi guys,

I just want to get a short confirmation of what I'm doing here: I'm trying to build a striped pool of two mirrored vdevs - aka RAID10. So here's a screenshot of the Pool Manager in FreeNAS 11.2:

Is that the correct setup for a RAID10?

Thanks for the help - and happy holidays!

Looks good. (although you need to name the pool).

hi , newbie with freenas. so for the freenas version of raid 10 one need to use 2 vdevs in mirror?
what is zfs3 to be compared with than?

other thing , what is the minimum disks for raid equivalent?

srry to put in old topic, not shure if it was ok to make a new topic about basicly same stuff

That's not exactly what it is (you need to read the ZFS primer in the resources section), but the rough equivalent, yes.

To the non-existent RAID 7 (assuming that if RAID 6 is 2 parity blocks, RAID 7 would be 3 parity blocks).

what is the minimum disks for raid equivalent?
Mirror: 2
RAIDZ1: 3
RAIDZ2: 3 (although it makes 0 sense to do that, do a 3-way mirror instead)
RAIDZ3: 4 disks (although, as with RAIDZ2, better to do a 4-way mirror)

In each of those RAIDZ cases, remember that you can't change the RAIDZ type once the VDEV is created, so choose wisely.
