Hello everyone,
I looked all over the forum but no solution seems to work in my case. I updated Freenas from 11.1 u6 to 11.2u4 this morning. It installed and rebooted just fine. Then i went to reboot and i only see the following message:

Any idea?

My motherboard is a Asrock E3C224D4I-14S. Under Advanced>SATA Mode Selection is set to AHCI.

Thank you very much!

Do you have any USB devices plugged in to the system? If you do, try removing them.

Well, the most likely scenario is that your boot device is crapping out and the new bootloader got messed up during the update. Replace it, reinstall and restore your config.

I wish that was the case: This is an issue i had since the BETAs. I tried installing the Os on an SSD and 3 different USBs. I tried using USB 2.0 and 3.0. I'm positive it has to do with some kind of setting in the BIOS, i just can't understand what it is. Again, 11.1 works flawlessly, 11.2 reboots after the update and runs just fine but, if i reboot again i get the error.

The way i'm working around it is to boot in a 11.1 enviroment, select the new one from the UI and reboot. Then i have to make sure to activate the old one again in case i need to reboot.

Fixed it.
I had to disable every single other device from being in the boot list exept the OS USB (the order was correctly set for my USB to boot first). It wasn't a problem with previous versions, but apparently 11.2 in myt specific case, does not like it.

That solved it? That's really weird, plenty of boards have trouble actually following boot priorities, but it should be absolutely irrelevant once the bootloader takes over.

That was quite surprising to me as well. I actually tried it out of desperation but, i'm glad it works fine now.
