Boot USB backup?

I assume that all FreeNAS configuration settings are written to the USB stick? Are there any suggestions anywhere on the best way to keep this backed up, maybe even to a companion stick which can be booted from if the first fails?

Yes the settings are saved in

/data/freenas-v1.db

If you search the forum, you'll find some scripts that back it up to your pool using a cron job.
