SOLVED Boot failing on NVMe device initiation with Gigabyte Server (R272-Z32)

Problem:
FreeNAS is expereincing a "Fatal Trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode" during the boot sequence when enumerating through Generic NVMe devices.

Hardware:
  • Gigabyte R272-Z32 AMD EPYC™ 7002 UP Server System - 2U 24-Bay NVMe
  • 16x Crucial 16GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Server Memory Model CT16G4RFD832A
  • 1x CPU AMD EPYC ROME 7232P 3.1G 32M
  • 24x Seagate Nytro 5000 Enterprise SSD 1920GB (~2TB)
    • 3D cMLC PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.2a U.2 2.5-Inch Internal Data Center Solid State Drive
    • XP1920LE10002
  • 1x Samsung FIT Plus USB 3.1 Flash Drive
    • Operating System
    • 128GB - 300MB/s (MUF-128AB/AM)
Software:
  • FreeNAS 11.3-U1
    • UEFI Boot
Steps to Reproduce:
Boot from USB thumb drive.

Also, we've run MemTest86 Pro and all the memory appears to be fine. :rolleyes:

The issue was one of the hard drives was defective and was causing the system to halt in the boot phase.
