Best way to mount an smb/cifs and NFS share in FreeNAS

I need to mount one SMB and one NFS share in FreeNAS. It needs to be persistent between reboots.

Should I use an init script or hand edit the /etc/fstab file? Or is there a better way to do this?

Wound up using an init script for the NFS mount which works well.

Still need answer for CIFS.
