Before I buy all the parts, is this build great for a NAS?

Plus a 2GB USB 2.0 with this Header to USB (Keep the OS out of sight).

New to FreeNAS so it might not be perfect. Right now I'm wondering if I should get the 80+ Gold PSU? If I'm correct the case already has a power supply but not sure if it will be good enough for a NAS.

No, your system does not have ECC memory (as far as I can tell), it is therefore not suited as a FreeNAS server. But you got the gist of it.

Here is your checklist:

1. Motherboard - known good motherboard with ECC support
2. 8-16 gigs of ecc ram for home use. (I have 16 and never use it all)

Also the motherboard is limited to 8 gigs of ram which will eventually limit the size of your zpool.

So I'd say back to the drawing board on that one. SuperMicro boards are popular around here for a reason, you may wish to check out the X10 series. Also several other boards have been discussed in this forum.
