Whats the best way to implement Bandwidth Throttling on a FreeNAS box?

Im doing rsync to another server, but the syncing could extend until business hours and use all available Internet bandwidth.
Can we restrict the bandwidth, per destination IP, and also based it on a schedule?

You can schedule rsync and you can limit bandwidth for it.
Have a look at the rsync man page.

Sure,, I can trigger rsync with limited bandwidth on business hours, and trigger without limit at night.
But what happens when the one triggered at night took long to complete and it keeps running until business hours?

If I could control the bandwidth, separately, I could construct the flexibility needed and provide failsafe for this rsync activity and many other.
Is this possible?

2 rsync sat the same time will make problems. You should check if there is already one running before triggering again(can be scripted).

Not in Freeman's itself I sync.

What firewall do you use?
Pfsense f.e can do that.

Mikrotik on some locations, Pfsense on others, Cisco on others.
On some, none (regular cable modem).
I've done it on Mikrotik, I assume pfsense and Cisco do it as well.
But I need a consistent process, so it needs to be done on the freeNAS box.
