Hi there. First of all thanks for the resource in this forum, I've learned some skills to build my first NAS. Now the 4*WD40EZRX are in burn-in process with badblocks.

One thing I notice is the progress on one of the drives is faster than the others, as the outputs I grepped the at the same time:

~# badblocks -ws /dev/ada0
Testing with pattern 0xaa: done
Reading and comparing: 80.81% done, 17:09:52 elapsed. (0/0/0 errors)

~# badblocks -ws /dev/ada1
Testing with pattern 0xaa: done
Reading and comparing: 87.32% done, 17:06:52 elapsed. (0/0/0 errors)

~# badblocks -ws /dev/ada2
Testing with pattern 0xaa: done
Reading and comparing: 80.37% done, 16:58:35 elapsed. (0/0/0 errors)

As you can see, the progress on /dev/ada1 is faster than the other 2. Wondering why and if it's normal..., something I should be worrying about?

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks a bunch in advance.

Nothing to worry about.

Do worry if one of them is significantly slower than the others.

Thanks for the reply, good to know there's nothing to worry about, curious what made a big difference like this. I'll probably swap the SATA ports for these HDDs to see if it goes with the HDD or stay at the port on the board, to be updated.
