Backup/Restore Pool to New Hardware

Is there a way to backup the current pool (in it's entirety), create a new pool with the proper vdev configuration, and restore the old pool to the new one?

Yeah.. there's tons of ways to do it..

-rsync
-straight up copy
-zfs snapshot and replication

Take your pick.. the manual is your hero!

Maybe I'm getting "lost in the weeds" so to speak, so let me ask one last dumb question.
Since the jails and everything are on the zpool, if I create a new empty pool, then restore all the old pool from whatever backup I have, will IDs and everything work ok? I guess my question boils down to, what kind of info is stored on the "OS Flashdrive" versus what is stored in the zpool itself?
