Hi guys, I'm about to revamp my freenas with some new hardware and i think this may be one of the better choice Mini-ITXs boards out there. I didn't see a lot of posts out there about this board so i wanted to start one and hopefully get some comments. I figure with 10TB of storage and 7 Drives I think 32gb of RAM should be fine for me, I am also considering some boards that will support 64gb of ram but most of them have an on-board Atom processor which looks powerfull but if i ever find out that they just aren't enough to handle plex or whatever then I'm stuck with the CPU. With this board i can always upgrade to a better CPU however i am stuck with the 32gb of ram limitation so i guess i have to choose. I am trying to think in terms of the future (i know i have no need for all this now). So what do you think? get the boards that support the 64gb of RAM with the on-board CPU or get the board with the socket and hope i don't need more than 32gb of ram in the future. there is also the question of compatibility, What do you guys think?

You know, the comparisons between those different boards has been discussed in great detail many many times in the forums. You may want to search for those answers before starting a new thread...

Thanks Cyberjock, when i search for the model number of the board it only returns 5 results and one is my post. I saw some other posts related to the supermicro board and the C2750D4I but nothing that really talks about making the decision to be stuck with the on-board or go with the 32gb cap on ram and get a CPU socket. My question is a specific one that i didn't find an answer to. Sorry for creating a new thread on your forums, you don't have to be rude about it.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I was telling you to search for those discussions because the people involved aren't likely to go into detail again. Nothing more and nothing less.
