Hello!
After reading many threads on this forum, I post my new freenas build before buying this.
Motherboard: Supermicro X9SRA ATX LGA2011 Motherboard
CPU Rad: Intel RTS2011LC Water Cooler - Already have
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1620 v2 (3.7Ghz x4)
Memory: 4x Samsung DDR3 8GB 1600Mhz ECC - Already have
Storage: 16x Samsung 850 PRO 2TB - Already have
HBA Controller: LSI SAS 9201-16i
Chassis: Chenbro RM31616 (16x3.5" HotSwap) - Already have
Network Adapter: Intel X540-T2 (2x10Gbps/s) or Qlogic QLE2562 (2x8Gbps/s FC) - Already have both
I want to use this server with an vCenter, so I need to user iSCSI or FC…
Have you some advices or something to change in my hardware configuration?
Do you think it's a good idea to install FreeNAS into a usb stick, or I need to install it into physical hard drive?
