I'm in the market for one of the SuperMicro 2U 12-drive systems. Generally, I've been looking for ones with the SAS2-BPN backplane (to support large drives), but occasionally I see one come up which is a -TQ model with, for example, 8 drive bays connected via a LSI MegaRAID 9260-4i, and 4 drive bays connected on the motherboard.
Is there any reason why I'd want to avoid these? Any reason why I'd prefer them?
