Hi

I'm new to Freenas. I did some investigation on my own before buying this setup and decided to ask if this setup is sufficient (would have been probably smarter ask before bying). I am planning to use this as a general purpose file storage for home and be accessing it over internet with BTSync (syncing photos from mobiles etc)

I bought Lenovo TS140 Server which have following components:
- Xeon E3-1225 v3 @ 3.20GHz (4 cores)
- 8Gb UDIMM ECC. One Lenovo 4Gb 1600Mhz and one used Kingston 4Gb 1333Mhz scavenged from work.
- Intel C226 Chipset
- Intel I217 NIC
- Onboard ThinkServer RAID 100 SATA. This seems to be just fancy marketing name for standard Intel chip. FreeNAS sees this as “Intel Lynx Point AHCI SATA controller”
- 280W PSU

For harddisks I collected few used ones from my past setups:
2* Samsung HD204UI (smart firmware patch applied)
2* WD Black 2Tb WD2001FASS
8Gb Kingston USB for Freenas OS.

So far I've run few hours of mem test to see if my RAM modules are ok and now running badblocks run for all disks. It seems that WD Blacks are running bit hot 41C and 45C. I was planning to put disks into striped mirror. Knowing that Samsungs and WD's probably perform bit differently, would it cause any issues?
