Hi

I have a music library stored on my Truenas under //192.168.0.40/Shared/Music.

Before i upgraded to Truenas 12 from Freenas 11.3 i had 3 locations mapped in SONOS;

//192.168.0.40/Shared/Music/Singles
//FreeNAS/Shared/Music/Albums
//FreeNAS/Shared/Music/Compilations

Dont ask me why i had it like that, i cant remember!

Anyway, Since ive chanced to TrueNAS i changed the hostname from FreeNAS to TrueNAS and the second 2 locations didnt work. I deleted them and tried to re ad them under //192.168.0.40/Shared/Music/Albums and //192.168.0.40/Shared/Music/Compilations but i get a 1001 and 1002 error.

What is wierd is that the //192.168.0.40/Shared/Music/Singles still streams correctly.

Ive tried adding it as a guest and a user/password but both fail.

Has anyone got any wise words of how i can add these locations?

Thanks

Jay

Dug into /var/log/samba4/log.smbd.

Plenty of errors in there including

Code:

There's a bug in -U1 which @anodos has tracked down and fixed in another thread (regarding OSX). I applied the fix he sent and it also fixed for my Sonos system

Can you please share the fix? Or thread

I think it's best to get the fix directly from @anodos - just to be sure to get the lastest build of it with -U1.1 just released (which sounds like a real important fix to upgrade to).

I now confirm that smb fix provided by @anodos resolves the issue of Sonos not creating a Music library from a TrueNAS share. I applied the fix and enabled BOTH SMB1 AND NTLM v1 auth to be able to achieve this goal. Thank you for providing this fix.

Awesome news!
He has sent me it, I am away with work at the moment but will check at the weekend.

Hi,
First post here, so be gentle if I have done it wrong.
Is there an update to this issue, I have just migrated to truenas scale, and I'm unable to get my Sonos S1 system to work.
Thanks

So I have dug around, and found nothing.
Can anyone here post a setup for a music library for Truenas Core that is compatible with Sonos S1?
I have created a shared USB disk from one of my Hotspots that work, but find this a bit clunky.
Thanks in advance :smile:

Well... the thread's last message was almost 3 years old, and it concerned an issue experienced in upgrading FreeNAS 11.3 to TrueNAS 12-U1: as a matter of fact, it's in the FreeNAS section of the forum, which should be used only for said version of the software.

Moreover, you seem to be using SCALE which is completely different from any FreeBSD version previously released anything near this section.

I would say you ought to post somewhere here in order to get a good chance of someone helping.

Tried to lightly scold you as gently as possible :tongue:
