Adding a boot drive with smaller size

I am currently running TrueNAS on 2 x 240Gb Kingfast SSD's. Due to the exiting of an old R210, i have 2 x 120Gb OCZ Deneva SSD's available. As the Deneva is industry-grade, i was thinking of exchanging 1 Kingfast with 1 Deneva in the boot pool in zmirror and subsequentally, exchange the Kingfast with the 2nd Deneva after the mirroring process is completed. Can this be done? My main concern is if TrueNAS (or ZFS) will allow zmirror with an SDD that is smaller than the existing boot drive.

Save your config, reinstall to the smaller drives, restore config.

If you just remove the boot pool SSD, reinstall to the mirrored smaller drives, then restore the config - all the while leaving your data pool untouched - then no. All your data including jails/plugins will still be there.

You can then add the old SSD back and attach it as a mirror drive to your data pool. Probably best to wipe it first, in some other system.
