That seems easy enough. I believe I am seeing the integrated sas controller on the mb though (SAS2301). How would I select the 9211-8i?

BTW, you "Paste" into Putty by simply Right-Mouse click... Not the normal "CTRL+V" you would use in Windows. Funny because, you can use "CRTL-C" to copy whatever you choose to highlight with the mouse...

Any idea about the 2301 controller that I mentioned above? Not sure how to select the LSI 9211-8i

Adapter Selected is a LSI SAS: SAS2308_1(D1)

Num Ctlr FW Ver NVDATA x86-BIOS PCI Addr
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

0 SAS2308_1(D1) 20.00.04.00 14.01.30.16 07.39.00.00 00:02:00:00

Yep, since you have two controllers and you want to work with the "SAS2008(B2)" one, you would leverage the "-c #" switch.

Since the one you want is number 1, your commands would now be this:
  • sas2flash -o -c 1 -listsasadd
    • So you can copy the address (just in case)
  • sas2flash -o -c 1 -f 2118it.bin -b mptsas2.rom

That worked! Thank you times a million! I'll keep updating as I troubleshoot to see if the cables are causing the problems.

Thank you! After restarting, all errors look to have been correcting, but i will know for sure after a scrub.

Just an update. After installing the new card and cables, and upgrading the firmware on the raid card, I have not seen any errors.
