Adaptec RAID 7805 Single Compatibility

Hi all,
is the RAID Controller above is compatible to work with the latest version of FreeNAS?
or can you recommend me another one with at least 8 HDD drives (SAS or SATA) and has option for expansion to even more storage drives.

How about you do some sticky reading. The IBM M1015 is recommended there and in about every thread where a SATA/SAS controller is recommended.

As for the Adaptec, just don't do it.
