I've got FreeNAS Build: FreeNAS-8.0-RELEASE-i386. Connected successfully to AD and when you SSH and do 'wbinfo -u' I can see all of the AD users listed.

The problem is that when I change the permissions of the volume, none of the users I say in SSH are listed. I've tried rebooting several times and also rebuilding the LDAP/AD Cache under Advanced.

Any reasons why they don't show on permissions ?

Thanks

There have been many CIFS/AD changes and fixes since 8.0-RELEASE. Can you backup your config and upgrade to 8.0.4?

But even with 8.0.4 you can not see the AD users and groups in the account management section of the GUI.

It appears AD users and groups only appear in the volume permission settings.

For example I would like to be able to add an Active Directory users to a local group e.g. ssh or staff through the web gui.

Please submit a ticket at support.freenas.org so the devs see that feature request.
