Hi All,

I am trying to use FreeNAS 9.3 beta on a Dell PE R610 with 8 gigs of RAM and 6 1tb ibm drives that are 2.5" and spinning rust at 7,200 rpm via the latest firmware on a Dell Perc H200. The drives are presented as ATA JBOD disks.

My issue is with finding where the AD integration is at in 9.3. This post for 9.2.1.5 is no longer valid : https://forums.freenas.org/index.ph...directory-folder-file-user-permissions.20610/

Thanks,
Joe

There is one line in the manual that is unclear and the pop up bubble is more unclear.

NetBIOS Namestringonly available in “Advanced Mode”; automatically populated with the hostname of the system; use caution when changing this setting as setting an incorrect value can corrupt an AD installation

Are we looking for the NetBIOS name of the host, i.e. if the unix host name is freenas1 should it be FREENAS1 ?

Or are we looking for the NetBIOS name of the domain smallbiz.com : i.e. SMALLBIZ ?

I haven't played with it, but my guess is Hostname. Look at the tooltip and docs.
