Hi All,
I am a newbie in the context of FreeNAS , here is what my problem is I have successfully setup a cifs share on my free nas box and the same is accessible to all systems on my lan now i want this share to be accessible to any one over the internet as a mapped drive in his/her windows pc, for this purpose i have made configuration changes on my router redirecting all traffic on my public ip to my nas box , i am able to access the freenas web interface over the internet , but not the cifs share.
After googling i've found that for the share to be accessible over the internet the following ports need to be open 137-139 & 445 on my freenas box nmbd service is active and listens on ports 137 & 138, the smbd service is also active but the ports 139 & 445 are not in the listening state .
How do i resolve this ??
Any pointers will be great!
TIA
