:OOOO I did a scrub volume when I selected the thing in storage tab and after it finished my data was there. All folders where there. I wonder if the transfer to my other nas will be successful or not. This is a nightmare situation.

Turn off CIFS. Turn on SSH. Enable root login in the SSH config. Use winscp to download your files.

I transferred one folder but then it gives me this error code:

"
General failure (server should provide error description).
Error code: 4
Error message from server: Failure
"

Can I just take the drives out of my server, plug them into my hotswap thingy and transfer the data over at like 50mbps?

What kind of "a rally old lenovo computer" is this? You can get RAM cheap for this. Post the model number.
Also you might want to take a look at the date on your drives - older than 5 years are not to be trusted (just a hunch)

Try to do winscp session via ip address. You can find your ip address by typing 'ifconfig' in the shell.

Failing that, my recommendation is to bring ram up to 8GB.

Just for my own knowledge, what was the rationale with this suggestion?
