I'd like to start by saying I'm upgrading my real FreeNAS box from 8.0.4 to 8.3.0-RC1. Signature show system configuration.
1) The first problem I have encountered is the CONSOLE screen hangs with the last message being "Starting cron." and does not go beyond that. The GUI operates so I was able to import my pool.
When using the GUI, I am unable to force a reboot or shutdown and I suspect it's tied to this problem.
Entering the "Shell" I was able to type "reboot" to force a reboot and the subsequent boot did not have the hangup as indicated above. BTW, this is a repeatable problem, meaning if I reset to default then the problem above occurs again.
2) I have a 32GB USB Flash drive which works and mounts fine under 8.0.4 yet it isn't mounted as a drive under 8.3.0-RC1. So it doesn't show up under /mnt at all but is attached to umass0.
After upgrading and even after restoring to factory defaults the USB flash drive is not mounted as a drive.
df reports this and I'm not sure where to go from here...
I'm still beating on this but any help would be appreciated. Oh, I've also wiped out the USB flash drive just to see what happens there.
UPDATE: Problem #1 went away when I removed the 32GB USB FLASH drive and started all over again, or should I say it has worked once now.
