I am researching a new NAS O/S and have a couple questions.
1) I currently use NASlite with a 3ware raid card. The performance is excellent but the features of FreeNAS have come a long way and now should be able to meet my stability and performance requirements. I like zfs but for a while I just want to use the 3ware raid card with FreeNAS. Is it possible to mount the 3ware raid array in FreeNAS and not use zfs software raid? I don't want to incur a performance penalty because I don't want to use zfs yet.
2) Another reason I am looking at FreeNAS is for improved reporting. Specifically I would like to identify hosts or users that are using resources. I looked through the info and screenshots and it seems like there are tools that could help. How would you figure out what host or user is taking up resources and not just connected to FreeNAS?

EDIT: I only use CIFS and NFS on my NAS so no block access.
