I saw the currently the 16 TB Pros are cheaper than the 14 TB Plus drives, so was pondering getting those.
However, I saw that while the 12 TB Pro and the 18 TB Pro are on the TrueNAS Mini support list, the 16 TB Pro is not.
(Model of the 16: WD161KFGX. The qualified 18 is WD181KFGX. Those model numbers sure look similar, but I have no idea how the product lines work.)
Is it possible there's something bad about this drive specifically that made it unqualified? Or is it more likely just that nobody asked about it so it wasn't tried? The gap is what surprised me, when a larger and a smaller drive are both listed.
I spotted others on the forum using the drive in the X+ (https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/msata-ssd-drives-not-recognized.107172/post-739369), so it's probably fine, but I figured I'd ask just in case.
