Hi after upgrade to 11.2 i decided do remove all old jails.
I created new ones with ixsytem documentation for freenas 11.2 page 14.2.1. Jail Wizard, but after jail creation (IMHO) my jail is not separated from the freenas.
If I ssh to my jail IP address I've to login with my freenas root passsword. When i change it, I change my root password in main system too.
If I install mc package in the jail, it appears in the main system too.

I've used freenas for years for private use, but till that moment I suppose that I understand jails specification.
Now I'm not able to create separate jail with FreeBSD to manage my data.

I made a mount point for a jail, but when I ssh to jail I'm able to see whole pool dataset.
Thanks for help

Are you positive you have the correct IP address for your jail?

Everything you're describing is what you'd see if you ssh'd into your main FreeNAS appliance, not a jail.

Thanks for response, and for targeting for the reason.
I created jails 5 times and every time I did't choose internet interface for the jails.
In that situation jails started correctly, I was able to ssh to their IP address (other then freenas) but it was freenas system indeed.
IMHO jail creation wizard should block such situations...
Now everything works OK.

i've also deleted my entire jail from the old freenas. this new build 11.2, the jails seems harder to setup than before. I use to be able to create a jail and install plugins to that same jail. sorry if i am highjacking this thread but it seems similar to what i was looking for. but how would I install plugins to a jail I created?

If you want to not do things the way they're packaged in the plugins, you'll have to manually set them up in your own jails, as the guides in the Resources section detail.

Thanks. It's not that I don't want to do things the packages are. Just that coming from the previous version it was easier to do what im trying to do in the new version. Also there's a lot more settings in the advance jail setting. Going to attempted this if can't figure it out I guess I'll do the standard package route. Thanks
